Job summary

SLR Consulting in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Principal Mine Permitting & NEPA Consultant to lead permitting, NEPA analyses, and regulatory strategy for major mining projects in the Southwest. You will mentor multidisciplinary teams, grow the mining practice, manage client relationships, and represent SLR in hearings and industry forums.

Strong leadership, communication, and regulatory expertise are essential. Qualifications include a BS or MS in Engineering or Environmental Science, 15+ years in mining

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience with permitting, compliance, and NEPA in the mining sector, including leadership of complex multi-stakeholder projects.
• Strong consulting experience with proven ability to manage client relationships and grow business opportunities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state environmental regulations applicable to mining, with design and engineering integration into regulatory analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage high-profile mining permitting and NEPA projects and regulatory strategy.
• Grow the mining business and mentor senior and junior staff across disciplines.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, drive business development, and manage proposals.
• Represent SLR in regulatory hearings, public forums, and industry associations.
