Job summary

Crucible ETN is seeking a Mining Engineer to develop daily and weekly plans, designs and schedules for underground mining operations. The role focuses on preparing timely designs aligned with the plan to reduce cross-department interactions and improve work scheduling.

Key responsibilities include creating 7+21 rolling plans, drill and blast designs, level designs, and waste/backfill strategies. Collaboration with Mine Operations, Geology, Survey and Geotech teams is essential, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in mining engineering in an underground environment.
• Tertiary qualifications in a mining related discipline.
• Experience in driving best practice through your department and into the business.
• Ability to understand functionality of business systems and extract relevant data for business purposes.
• Track record in driving continuous improvement.
• Preference for experience in Deswik.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all MSHA regulatory and company standards.

• Promote and assist in maintaining a positive work culture.
• Demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
• Develop weekly plan (7+21) to achieve the Rolling 3-month plan (RoFo).
• Generate drill and blast designs.
• Develop short terms level designs.
• Develop waste/back filling plans if required.
• Work with Mine Operations, Geology, Survey, Geotech and Mine Design when developing mine plans and schedule.
• Undertaking regular underground site visits to ensure execution is compliant to the plan.
• Attend safety meetings and demonstrate safety leadership. Assist in development of SOPs and JSEA procedures. Work with senior mine planner to ensure 7+21 plan is compliant to ROFO plan.
• Work with engineering, geology and Mine Operations team to develop robust mine plans, designs and schedules.

The Role

The Mining Engineer is primarily responsible to develop daily and weekly plans, designs and schedules and to ensure that all the required designs are ready on a timely manner for the execution of the plan and aligned in such a way as to reduce departmental interactions in the mine and promote efficient work scheduling.
