Job summary

Millworks By Design is seeking an Estimator with millwork experience to support high-end custom projects from inquiry through handoff to Production. You’ll create accurate bid proposals, interpret architectural drawings, and partner closely with clients, designers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure clarity.

Success requires technical precision, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple fast-moving scopes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating experience in millwork or related construction trades.
• Ability to read and interpret residential and light commercial architectural drawings.
• Experience with custom home construction, architectural or engineering backgrounds, or equivalent technical knowledge.
• Good working knowledge of wood frame construction preferred.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong mathematical and geometric competency.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build detailed, accurate estimates for custom millwork packages.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and RFPs to understand full project scope.
• Conduct takeoffs and input labor and material cost units with precision.
• Prepare clear scope write-ups, assumptions, clarifications, and qualifications.
• Flag design conflicts, missing information, and potential risk areas early.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth handoff from Estimating to Production.
