Job summary

Telesat is seeking a seasoned UT Program Manager, Mil-Ka, to lead the development, integration, qualification, delivery, and deployment of Mil-Ka user terminal solutions supporting Telesat Lightspeed government programs.

The role coordinates with engineering, product management, procurement, contracts, and external suppliers to ensure on-time, within-budget, and technically compliant outcomes across requirements, design reviews, and deployment activities.

Qualifications

Minimum of 6 years of program or project management experience in complex STEM environments.
Experience managing external suppliers through hardware/software product development and delivery.
Background in satellite communications, aerospace, or defence systems.
Experience with government or defence satellite systems is strongly preferred.
Experience with government contracts and supplier performance management.
Strong written and verbal communication across technical and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end Mil-Ka user terminal development and integration programs with external vendors.
Interface with Mil-Ka terminal vendors and internal engineering teams on scope, schedule, and milestones.
Own program planning, including WBS, schedules, budgets, risks, and executive reporting.
Translate mission requirements into actionable development plans with cross-functional teams.
Drive vendor performance to meet technical, schedule, and cost commitments.
Coordinate lifecycle reviews and readiness activities across teams and suppliers.
