Job summary

Audubon Companies in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design and engineering for midstream facilities, including gas gathering systems, compressor stations, gas processing plants, and NGL fractionation units.

You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, sizing calculations, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with operations, project engineering, and construction teams through FEL/FEED to startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required); PE license a plus.
• 8+ years of process engineering, with at least 5 years in midstream oil & gas.
• Hands-on with gas processing plants, NGL fractionation, or pipeline systems.
• Knowledge of amine treating, dehydration, refrigeration, compression, and cryogenic NGL recovery.
• Familiar with API, GPA Midstream, and ASME codes and standards.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ProMax).
• HAZOP/PHA facilitation experience.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design and engineering for midstream facilities.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, equipment sizing calculations.
• Provide technical support for plant operations and troubleshoot process upsets.
• Lead or support HAZOP, PHA, and MOC reviews for new/modified facilities.
• Evaluate and optimize unit operations (amine treating, dehydration, refrigeration, compression, cryogenic NGL recovery).
• Partner with operations, project engineering, and construction teams to execute capital projects from FEL/FEED through startup.
• Develop scopes of work, equipment specifications, and datasheets for major process equipment.
• Support regulatory compliance with API, ASME, GPA Midstream standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their technical work.
• Participate in field visits, commissioning, and startup activities as needed.
