The role offers Senior or Executive Underwriter levels based on experience, with a path to leadership within the team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience in broker/agency distribution, marketing, or sales leadership within middle market insurance.
• Proven ability to develop and execute national or multi-region distribution strategies with measurable revenue impact.
• Existing relationships with middle market broker principals and producers; recognized within the broker community.
• Experience leading and scaling high-performing teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and executive-level influencing skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to translate performance data into strategic insights.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, manage, and profitably grow a multiline admitted property and casualty portfolio.
• Build and expand strategic broker and customer relationships to drive profitable opportunities.
• Collaborate with Claims, Finance, Risk Engineering, Actuarial, Marketing, and Technical Underwriting for well-informed decisions.
• Manage priorities and respond to broker and customer needs with urgency and execution.
• Provide insights on distribution strategy and underwriter approach to shape Berkshire United's growth.
