Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Senior Security Engineer, Microsoft Stack, to own and evolve SNHU's security controls across Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid infrastructure. This 100% remote role reports to the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer and emphasizes Defender XDR, Entra ID, Intune, and Purview.

You will build security automation, collaborate with IAM, and partner with teams to close control gaps while ensuring FERPA and PCI DSS compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in IT/security.
• 7+ years in cybersecurity, cloud engineering, or related areas.
• 3+ years on Microsoft security platforms in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and implement security controls across Defender XDR, Entra ID, and Purview.
• Collaborate with IAM to implement identity security controls and test changes in non-production tenants.
• Build production-grade security automation using PowerShell, Graph, KQL, and REST APIs.
• Integrate security telemetry with SIEM/SOAR and ITSM; liaise with Microsoft on roadmap and deprecations.
• Provide configuration expertise for Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and Purview labels; support DSPM.
