Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking an Associate to design, deploy, and advise on Microsoft 365 security solutions for clients. You will work across Defender XDR, Entra ID, Intune and Purview in hybrid and full cloud environments, delivering secure configurations and governance.

You will participate in client workshops, create design documents, runbooks and executive summaries, and stay current with the Microsoft security roadmap to drive outcomes for multiple client tenants.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on IT or security experience, ideally in Microsoft environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with at least two of: Defender XDR, Entra ID, Purview, Intune.
• Working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure: AD, DNS, Group Policy, Windows Server, Exchange Server.
• Understanding of hybrid identity and authentication methods.
• Familiarity with PowerShell for administration and scripting.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, least privilege, IAM, data classification, endpoint protection.

Responsibilities

• Plan, configure and deploy Microsoft 365 security solutions across Defender XDR, Entra ID, Intune and Purview.
• Design and implement Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, MFA and identity protection policies.
• Build Purview data protection controls, including sensitivity labels, DLP, retention and insider risk policies.
• Support hybrid scenarios such as Entra Connect/Cloud Sync, on-premises AD, Group Policy and hybrid Exchange.
• Run current-state assessments and produce findings, recommendations and roadmaps.
• Automate configuration and reporting with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
• Lead working sessions with client IT and security stakeholders.
• Explain M365 controls mapping to NIST CSF, CIS, ISO 27001; present trade-offs clearly.
