Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an experienced MECM Administrator to manage its endpoint configuration and software deployment framework. You will ensure OS and application patches, manage compliance, and monitor system performance across the MECM environment.

Collaborate with IT teams, handle security and policy-driven deployments, and participate in monthly Endpoint Technician meetings while maintaining vendor patch cycles and license compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of MECM experience.
• 3+ years packaging software for MECM distribution to Windows Client.
• 3+ years experience with MECM patch management and DELL CSI.
• 2+ years of PowerShell.
• 1+ year of Active Directory.
• 1+ year of DNS.
• 1+ year of DHCP scopes.
• 1+ year of Sites and Services.

Responsibilities

• Manages MECM environment following Microsoft best practices and policy procedures.
• Deploys Windows OS, Office, patches, and other agency software to maintain license compliance.
• Provides reports on deployment status, versions, and patch levels for servers and endpoints.
• Monitors AppLocker settings and logs on servers and endpoints.
• Maintains communication with Desktop Support Manager and IT Systems regarding MECM needs.
• Assists with upgrading software on servers and endpoints to stay compliant with lifecycle and upgrades.
• Attends Endpoint Technician meetings monthly.
• Observes and checks monthly patches from Dell and Microsoft.

Project Overview

The South Carolina Department of Transportation(SCDOT) is seeking an experienced Client Technologies Technician – Advanced tomanage and maintain its Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)environment. The role focuses on software deployment, operating system updates,hardware and software patch management, endpoint security, and compliance withagency IT policies. The candidate will collaborate with IT teams to monitorsystem performance, manage software upgrades, and ensure the reliability and securityof the agency's endpoint infrastructure.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• ManagesSCDOT Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management environment, whichincludes Microsoft Best Practices while deploying software and patchmanagement in accordance with SCDOT agency and IT Services policy andprocedures.
  
• DeploysMicrosoft Windows operating system and patches, Microsoft Office Suite,and patches as well as other agency software as needed to maintaincompliance with licenses and agency policies. Deploys DELL and otherhardware patches to production servers, endpoints and hardware accessoriesas needed to maintain compliance with licenses and agency policies.
  
• Providesreports on the status of software deployments, versions, and patch levelsfor all SCDOT servers, desktops, laptops, and tablets.
  
• MonitorsMicrosoft AppLocker settings and logs and recommends settings on serversand endpoints.
  
• Maintainsopen communication with Desktop Support Manager and IT Systems concerningMicrosoft MECM environment and software deployment needs.
  
• Assistswith upgrading software on servers and endpoint devices to maintaincompliance with vendor software life cycle, hardware life cycle, andscheduled software upgrades.
  
• Performsother related duties as required.
  
• Observesand checks available hardware and software patches from DELL, Microsoft,and Recast for monthly patch management of servers, endpoints, andhardware accessories.
  
• AttendEndpoint Technician meeting each month.
  

Requirements

Required Skills:

• 3+ yearsof experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management(MECM).
  
• 3+ yearsof experience packaging software for Microsoft Endpoint ConfigurationManagement (MECM) distribution to Windows Client using Bare Metal andSoftware Center.
  
• 3+ yearsof experience with hardware and software patch management using MicrosoftEndpoint Configuration Management (MECM) and DELL Client System InventoryAgent.
  
• 2+ yearsof experience with Microsoft PowerShell.
  
• 1+ yearof experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
  
• 1+ yearsof experience with Microsoft DNS.
