Job summary

TAP Engineering in Huntsville, Alabama, seeks a Microelectronics Supply Chain Management Expert (SME) to embed with a government team supporting a major DoD program. You will advise on radiation-hardened microelectronics, ROIC design, and secure hardware architectures.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance, citizenship, and 10+ years in microelectronics hardware with 5+ years in supply chain oversight. Travel ~20% is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessments on microelectronics fabrication technologies, including radiation-hardened components and 2.5D/3D packaging.
• Develop strategies to mitigate vulnerabilities in global microelectronics supply chains.
• Coordinate with subawardees and prime contractors to meet rapid delivery timelines while ensuring hardware integrity.
• Assist in managing domestic microelectronics design and fabrication pipelines from chiplet design to system integration.
• Implement hardware Root of Trust protocols and trusted execution environments for mission-critical data protection.
• Serve as technical liaison between supply chain office, DIB, and other DoD entities.
• Author technical reports and brief senior government officials on microelectronics health and capacity.
