Job summary

Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Lead Technologist to provide expert technical leadership and operational oversight in the laboratory. You will serve as a primary resource for problem solving, ensure quality control, and support the manager in day-to-day section operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field, ASCP certification, and significant discipline experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science from an accredited U.S. college or university.
• ASCP or equivalent certification with five years of discipline-related experience.
• Ten years of discipline-related experience may be accepted in lieu of ASCP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Follows SOPs to ensure minimal errors during all phases of testing.
• Assist with schedules, competency assessments, orientation and training; contribute to section policies.
• Manage inventory, instrument maintenance, quality control and issue follow-up per SOPs.
• Ensure proficiency testing is assigned, completed and reported accurately; investigate deficiencies.
• Assist in implementing new procedures/instrumentation and maintain documentation.
