Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Towson, Maryland, is seeking a Lead Project Engineer for Micro-Hydraulic systems to drive design, development, integration and validation for product platforms and customer applications.

You will lead cross-functional teams including electrical, software, motor controls, suppliers and manufacturing to deliver high-performance hydraulic solutions meeting cost, schedule and reliability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of mechanical design experience in micro-hydraulic systems.
• Experience leading engineering projects or technical workstreams.
• Knowledge of hydraulic principles and high-pressure micro-hydraulics.
• Experience with hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in hydraulic calculations and system troubleshooting.
• Experience with product development from concept to launch.
• Familiarity with GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA and root-cca analysis.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of micro-hydraulic systems and components.
• Translate requirements into architecture, schematics, and specs.
• Perform sizing, pressure/flow calculations, and thermal analysis.
• Drive technical decisions across projects and workstreams.
• Plan prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
• Define validation plans and support testing and production launch.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic performance during all phases.
• Lead DFMEA activities and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with motor controls, electrical, and software teams.
• Support supplier reviews and component qualification.
