Job summary

OU Health in Missouri is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Professional Coder to perform complex professional coding across clinic, hospital outpatient, ED, ASC, SNF, and telehealth settings. The role requires advanced ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding and strong payer policy interpretation to support compliant reimbursement.

Applicants should have CPC or CCS-P certification and at least 3 years of physician coding experience; a High School diploma is required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS with accurate E/M coding.
  • Experience interpreting payer policies and applying coding guidelines.
  • Strong documentation review and denial-prevention skills.

Responsibilities

  • Code complex professional encounters across office, hospital, ED, ASC, SNF and telehealth.
  • Ensure proper sequencing, modifiers, and E/M level selection.
  • Resolve edits/denials; support rebilling actions when needed.
  • Apply payer policies, NCCI concepts, and telehealth rules.
  • Provide real-time guidance to peers and share best practices.
  • Participate in quality reviews and education initiatives.
  • Work with Epic queues and encoder tools to review documentation.
  • Identify documentation improvement opportunities and support queries.
