Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Professional Coder to perform complex professional coding across office, hospital outpatient, ED/urgent care, ASC, SNF, and telehealth settings.

The role requires CPC or CCS-P certification and at least 3 years of physician coding experience, with expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding. Proficiency in Epic and encoder tools is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 3 years of physician/provider coding experience.
  • CPC or CCS-P certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Code complex professional encounters and procedures with correct sequencing, modifiers, and E/M level.
  • Ensure documentation alignment and accurate payer policy interpretation.
  • Resolve coding edits and denials by identifying root causes and supporting rebilling as needed.
  • Apply payer policies, NCCI concepts, global service considerations, and telehealth rules.
  • Provide real-time guidance to peers on standard coding scenarios.
  • Participate in internal quality review programs and implement corrective actions.
  • Proficient use of Epic professional coding work queues and encoder tools.
  • Review documentation across settings to support compliant coding and denial prevention.
  • Identify documentation improvement opportunities and support query workflows.
  • Work knowledge of risk adjustment concepts and HCC validation where applicable.
