Job summary

Amazon AWS Hardware Engineering seeks a Sr System Development Engineer, Mfg Bring Up and Test to own manufacturing test strategy from design engagement to volume production. You will partner with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure production-ready servers and racks across contract sites, driving test automation and data-driven improvements.

You will guide DFx, architect test flows, and lead root cause analysis to improve first-pass yield, collaborating globally with partners

Qualifications

• 5+ years of programming in modern languages (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years designing/architecting systems (patterns, reliability, scaling).
• 5+ years in manufacturing test engineering, system validation, or production test development.
• Experience with server- or rack-level hardware testing in data centers or contract manufacturers.
• Experience designing test systems, test infrastructure, or validation frameworks.
• Experience deploying and operating in Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with external partners.
• Experience with test coverage analysis, yield improvement, and root cause investigation methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing test strategy for server and rack systems across contract manufacturers.
• Lead design-for-test reviews to optimize hardware for manufacturing validation and serviceability.
• Architect and deploy manufacturing test infrastructure and automated test flows at factory sites.
• Drive test automation and telemetry to reduce manual interventions and speed feedback loops.
• Lead root cause analysis and yield improvement during NPI with corrective actions.
• Balance cost, cycle time, and defect risk by defining data-driven validation boundaries.
• Coordinate with internal engineering and external manufacturers on build schedules and readiness.
