Job summary

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions LLC in West Palm Beach, FL, seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement cost-efficient processes that meet product specs and quality standards. You will drive process improvements, coordinate launches for new or revised products, and support daily management to keep commitments to customers.

You will lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, design robust tooling/docs, and provide DFM feedback. Strong CAD/CAM skills and CNC experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (biomedical, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or related) required.
• 5+ years in manufacturing/engineering position.
• 3+ years CNC machining experience.
• Experience in high precision machine shop/assembly environment.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, CREO/ProE or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develops optimized, cost-effective manufacturing processes and inspection methods per specs and quality standards.
• Leads project strategies with timelines, critical path identification, and risk.
• Implements Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvements to production processes and controls.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams for tooling, gauging, and fixtures design for robust methods.
• Supports creation of PFMEAs, control plans, process flow documents, and related manufacturing docs.
• Provides design for manufacturing feedback for new and sustaining products.
• Leads capital expenditure justification memos and reports.
• Participates in engineering change notices and contract reviews for timely releases.
• Uses CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, NX, CREO, Mastercam) to develop/modify process drawings.
• Trains and mentors engineering staff and provides technical support to production.
