Job summary

Archer, an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, is scaling production of its all‑electric eVTOL aircraft. The Manufacturing Design Engineering team leads the manufacturing strategy for aircraft structures and drives manufacturability from concept through early production ramp.

You will own end‑to‑end lifecycle of structural builds, guiding tooling, processes, and cross‑functional integration with Design, Quality, and Certification to meet certification objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in aerospace manufacturing with emphasis on assembly and integration.
• Prototype or experimental aircraft experience preferred.
• Proven track record driving DFM for complex assemblies.
• Expertise with CAD, PLM, and MES in manufacturing settings.
• Ability to interpret Model-Based Definition and GD&T callouts.
• Strong leadership and cross‑functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical direction for structural assembly and integration processes for prototype and production.
• Own end‑to‑end lifecycle of structural builds, embedding manufacturability and risk mitigation.
• Drive tooling strategies and fixture development for prototype builds.
• Lead root‑cause analysis on the shop floor and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Design, Quality, and Certification to align with certification objectives.
• Mentor manufacturing engineers and technicians, promoting ownership and accountability.
