Job summary

The KBR Metrology team in Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Sr. Metrology Technician to perform routine calibrations, tests and inspections in-lab or on-site, ensuring traceability to NIST and compliance with ISO 17025.

You will work with calibration systems and support field service operations at customer sites. Responsibilities include calibration and repair of measuring equipment, recording activities, and assisting entry-level technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 7+ years of experience in the field, OR associate’s degree in engineering technology or a relevant field with 5+ years of experience.
• Working knowledge of voltages, current, resistance, capacitance, time and frequency, signal conditioning, blueprint drawings, dimensional tooling and hand tools, etc.
• Ability to interpret, validate, modify, and create uncertainty budgets in accordance with ISO 17025:2107
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and certification of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment according to technical specifications, ensuring traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
• Calibrate and repair equipment such as Multimeters, frequency counter, timers, oscilloscopes, Thermo-hygrometers.
• Calibrate standards used in calibrations and maintain equipment to established performance standards.
• Record maintenance activities in CMS, generate reports on results of tests, conditions of equipment and/or systems, repairs, and preventive maintenance performed, and prepare necessary documentation as required by customer and regulatory requirements.
• Interpret and create uncertainty budget in accordance with ISO 17025:2017
• Utilize common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.
