Job summary

Field Calibrations, Inc. in Phoenix is seeking a Senior Calibration Technician (Metrology) to lead high-precision calibration and repair across multiple disciplines. You will sign off on calibration reports, mentor junior technicians, and help develop procedures while representing the lab on-site with customers.

This on-site role includes travel to customer sites in Arizona and nearby states, a competitive hourly wage, full benefits, and opportunities for advancement in metrology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with completion of a formal PMEL, TMDE, or comparable metrology training program
• 5+ years hands-on calibration experience in ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab
• Demonstrated proficiency signing off on calibration reports in at least two disciplines
• Working understanding of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 clauses relevant to technician sign-off, traceability, and calibration certificate content
• Understanding of measurement uncertainty and hands-on ability to interpret and apply uncertainty budgets
• Ability to work independently in the laboratory and at customer sites
• Valid Arizona driver's license and clean driving record for company vehicle use
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations on primary and secondary standards across your disciplines (electrical, pressure, temperature, dimensional, torque, mass, or RF)
• Diagnose out-of-tolerance conditions, perform repair and adjustment work, document findings
• Sign off on calibration certificates and reports within accreditation scope
• Train and coach technicians in bench technique, interpretation, and uncertainty analysis
• Review the work of junior technicians before customer release
• Provide input into technician-tier progression
• Contribute to new procedure development and uncertainty budgets
• Support QA with internal audits and assessments
• Deploy to customer sites for on-site calibrations and represent the lab professionally
• Participate in Applied AI training to improve turnaround, uncertainty analysis, and reporting
