Job summary

Field Calibrations, Inc. is seeking a Calibration Technician (Metrology) in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves routine and non-routine calibration and repair work under supervision, with opportunities to progress toward Senior Technician.

Responsibilities include calibrating secondary standards and customer units, documenting findings, and supporting lab operations. Requires 2+ years of calibration experience and metrology training; on-site work with some travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with formal metrology training (military PMEL, industry apprenticeship, or two-year technical program) or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 2+ years hands-on calibration experience, in an accredited lab or military PMEL context.
• Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 traceability and calibration certificate requirements.
• Able to read calibration procedures, uncertainty budgets, and technical documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Valid Arizona driver's license.
• Willingness to progress through technician tier toward Senior.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations on secondary standards and customer units across qualified disciplines.
• Follow published calibration procedures and document all findings in calibration records.
• Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and escalate to Lead or Senior Technician for adjudication or repair.
• Support pre-calibration receiving inspection and post-calibration final inspection.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and traceability of the calibration bench.
• Coordinate with Customer Service on job status updates and safety protocols.
