Archer Technologies International, Incorporated seeks an experienced Materials and Processes Engineer to serve as the Metallics SME for the airframe of our eVTOL program. You will own metallic material decisions from alloy selection through qualification and FAA certification, working hands‑on in a fast‑moving program.

You will lead cross‑functional collaboration with stress, design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and certification teams; build Archer’s M&P metal capabilities; and drive

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years aerospace M&P experience focused on metallic materials and processes.
• Led material and process qualification and FAA/EASA/military certification activities.
• Deep knowledge of aerospace alloys (aluminum, titanium, steels) and corrosion‑resistant materials.
• Experience with heat treatment, surface treatments, plating, shot peening, welding/joining.
• Familiarity with MMPDS, SAE AMS, ASTM, MIL, NAS specs; galvanic compatibility guidance.
• Experience with nondestructive testing methods and root‑cause analysis.
• Regulatory familiarity with FAA rules and airworthiness requirements.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making under pressure; ability to mentor.

Aufgaben

• Serve as the Metallics SME for airframe design and material decisions.
• Develop compliance data and substantiation for airworthiness requirements; interface with FAA and certification teams.
• Collaborate with stress, design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and certification teams.
• Build and mature Archer’s M&P metallics capabilities, including lab methods and tools.
• Plan and execute metal material and process qualification programs; establish material strength properties.
• Author and maintain material and process specifications, design guidelines, and standards.
• Lead material selection balancing strength, fatigue, corrosion resistance, weight, and manufacturability.
• Define corrosion prevention and control requirements for metallic structures.
• Support production and supplier activities including MRB, FAI, and NADCAP processes.
• Lead failure analysis with fractography, metallography, SEM/EDS; drive CAPA.
