Job summary

Archer is seeking an experienced Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer to serve as the Metallics SME for the airframe of our eVTOL aircraft. You will own metallic material and process decisions across structure, engine, and battery components, from alloy selection through FAA certification.

The role requires deep metallurgical expertise, aerospace specifications knowledge, and the ability to operate under pressure in a fast-moving program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years aerospace M&P experience with metallic materials and processes.
• Experience leading material and process qualification and FAA/EASA/military certification activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the M&P Metallics SME for airframe materials (aluminum, titanium, steel, alloys).
• Develop compliance data and substantiation for airworthiness requirements; interface with FAA/DERs.
• Collaborate with stress, design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain and certification teams.
