Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an early to mid-career Equipment Engineer to own ALD/CVD toolsets, perform maintenance, and troubleshoot in a high-volume fab. The role emphasizes sensor data analysis, tool health monitoring, and driving improvements on a diverse platform mix including ASM, TEL, AMAT or LAM.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in engineering related to the role (chemical, mechanical, electrical, or materials science).
• Minimum 2 years in manufacturing; semiconductor experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; data-driven mindset.
• Experience analyzing machine sensor data to monitor tool health and drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Equipment troubleshooting by analyzing signals (pressure, voltage, gas flow, metrology) to identify tool failures.
• Lead improvement projects to address recurring tool issues and implement preventive actions.
• Draw conclusions from data and report tool events with appropriate visuals.
• Respond to critical fab events with containment and rapid resolution; generate 8D reports.
• Create/update SOPs to standardize processes and improve methods.
• Adapt to changing business needs and shifting priorities as required.
