Job summary

ABB is seeking a seasoned Sales Manager NAM - Metals to lead the sale of ABB products and services within the Metals sector. The role focuses on achieving market growth, managing customer relationships, and identifying new opportunities. Travel is required, with work-from-home flexibility when not traveling.

You will engage with metals customers (steel, aluminum, copper) and coordinate across teams to tailor solutions, supported by experience in process automation and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent education.
• 7+ years of experience in the metals industry with knowledge of metals applications (e.g., material handling, primary metals, rolling mills).
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives, motors, switchgears, MCCs and process automation.
• Ability to manage customer accounts techno‑commercially for solutions and service business.
• Strong communication skills and ability to cold-call new customers.
• Familiar with business software/tools (MS Word, Excel, SFDC).
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and coordinate with teams to configure equipment/systems.

Responsibilities

• Communicate delivery, payments and terms to customers per ABB offering and strategy.
• Support marketing activities and articulate ABB’s value proposition to customers.
• Identify and develop new market opportunities in the designated market.
• Manage sales processes and support cash collection and project management as needed.
