Job summary

ESi is a leading engineering and scientific investigation firm seeking a Senior Metallurgical and Materials Engineering expert to plan and direct complex forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects. You will oversee lab work, site inspections, and failure analyses, producing high-quality reports and expert opinions.

The role requires 6+ years in technical litigation consulting, PE licensure, and proven deposition/trial experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, and/or Materials Science; PE preferred or licensed.
• 6+ years of technical litigation consulting experience in metallurgy and materials failure analysis.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate complex forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects as a senior metallurgical and materials engineering expert.
• Direct and oversee metallurgical laboratory work, site inspections, and failure analysis investigations.
• Perform and supervise advanced forensic root cause failure analysis in industrial, insurance, and litigation projects.
• Authors and reviews high-quality technical reports; provide expert opinions on metallurgical and materials engineering matters.
• Provide expert testimony at deposition and trial.
• Conduct well-developed client presentations and mentor consultants.
