Carpenter Technology is looking for a Senior Metallurgist to support our technical services team. The ideal candidate will offer a diverse range of technical services that help meet both company and division goals. This role involves making critical decisions related to non-conforming materials and providing training to customers.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field, along with specialized knowledge in metallurgical principles and at least 4 years of relevant experience. A comprehensive benefits package is available.
Provides a diversified range of technical services to our internal and external customers supporting the attainment of company and division goals.
Responsible for making disposition of referred, non‑conforming and off‑standard material, including but not limited to RMRs and customer claims.
Demonstrates ability to provide training and education to customers.
May provide support, leadership, and guidance to peers, customers, and managers in key projects.
Applies statistical methods to solve problems and design experiments.
Assists in the use of SPC, Six Sigma and/or BPI tools to detect project inefficiencies.
Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.
