Job summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to lead and optimize roasting, calcine leaching, and CIL processes at the Goldstrike Roaster team. You will drive continuous improvement, supervise engineers, and ensure safety and production targets are met.
The role requires 7+ years in metallurgical operations with roasting or refractory gold experience, and strong data and project-management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor-level degree in metallurgy or chemical engineering.
- Experience in roasting, calcine leaching or refractory gold processing preferred.
- Strong data analysis, process control, and metallurgical accounting skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to optimize crushing, dry milling, roasting, off gas handling, and CIL circuits for gold recovery and throughput.
- Monitor metallurgical KPIs and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Manage metallurgical projects from conception to completion within budget and schedule.
- Analyze data and prepare detailed reports; present findings to senior management.
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance in all metallurgical activities.
