Job summary
Johnson Matthey Inc. is seeking a Metallurgist II to lead materials development and research projects from concept through delivery, applying deep knowledge of physical metallurgy to support R&D and manufacturing operations.
You will plan, execute and analyze experiments and production trials, support capital projects, collaborate with customers and suppliers, and drive safe practices and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of physical metallurgy and metal processing methods.
- Industrial experience within metallurgy, materials development or manufacturing.
- Experience leading technical projects and managing priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and build effective stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead materials development and research projects from concept through delivery.
- Provide physical metallurgy expertise to support R&D and manufacturing operations.
- Plan, execute and analyze experiments and production trials.
- Support capital projects through process development and equipment evaluations.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.
- Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
