Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Metallurgist II in West Chester, PA, to drive materials development from concept to delivery. You will provide physical metallurgy expertise to R&D and manufacturing, plan and analyze experiments, and support capital projects with process development and equipment evaluations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of physical metallurgy and metal processing methods.
• Industrial experience within metallurgy, materials development or manufacturing.
• Experience leading technical projects and managing priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and build effective stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead materials development and research projects from concept through delivery.
• Provide physical metallurgy expertise to support R&D and manufacturing operations.
• Plan, execute and analyze experiments and production trials.
• Support capital projects through process development and equipment evaluations.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.
• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
