Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior MES Developer to design, implement, and support MES solutions across manufacturing facilities. You will integrate MES with SAP, PLCs, and enterprise systems, ensuring traceability, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation.

You will collaborate with automation and quality engineers, develop REST/SOAP services, and ensure validated, secure software practices in both on‑prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Information Technology experience.
• 2-5 years of MES development and support experience.
• Strong experience with Rockwell FTPC or equivalent MES platforms.
• Proficiency in Java, C#, .NET, Spring Framework or similar tech.
• Experience designing REST APIs, SOAP web services, and integrations.
• Experience integrating MES with SAP and other enterprise apps.
• Strong Oracle and SQL Server database knowledge.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment integration and OPC tech.
• Experience in validated and regulated environments, with CSV/CSV validation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure software practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain MES applications for manufacturing, eDHR, and traceability.
• Configure and support FTPC applications and related MES tech.
• Develop integrations between MES and SAP, LIMS, PLM, QA, and other apps.
• Design, document, and support REST and SOAP integrations and event-driven interfaces.
• Develop interfaces between MES, PLCs, SCADA, and automation equipment.
• Develop Java, C#, and web-based apps for manufacturing operations.
• Create database solutions in Oracle and SQL Server; optimize performance.
• Support MES deployments on on-premises and Azure/cloud environments.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, validation teams, and architects; write design docs.
• Troubleshoot incidents; conduct root-cause analysis and code reviews.
• Ensure SDLC, CSV, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance and cybersecurity standards.
