Job summary

Corning Incorporated in the United States is seeking a software engineer to manage, modify, and develop computer systems required to manufacture optical fiber. The role will participate in or occasionally lead MES projects, drive cost reductions, and support capacity expansion across the division.

You will mentor junior developers, collaborate with engineers, and participate in capital projects. A BS in CS/CE/EE and 5+ years OO design experience are required, with strong C#/VB.Net/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Object-Oriented design and development using languages such as C#, VB.Net, Java, etc.
• Proficient in computer programming skills including C#, VB.Net, SQL, Camstar, Git.

Responsibilities

• Work hand in hand with a team of engineers to develop and provide support for our MES implementation, encompassing software to server assistance across the optical fiber division.
• Demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior developers, fostering their technical skills and knowledge, and encouraging professional growth.
• Participate in capital projects.
• Some after hours, on-call support may be needed.
