Job summary

North is hiring a Senior Product Builder for Merchant Onboarding to rapidly design, prototype, and validate onboarding features in sandbox environments. You will write precise specifications and collaborate with engineering to translate feedback into working solutions, accelerating product velocity in a dynamic payments landscape.

You’ll use AI tools and LLM APIs to speed concept validation, drive feature via direct merchant discovery, and align with agile teams while maintaining a practical,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Engineer, Product Analyst, or similar technical product roles.
• High fluency with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted coding agents.
• Deep user empathy built through direct discovery with merchants and underwriting teams
• Strong technical fundamentals with proficiency in SQL, JavaScript, and REST/web APIs.
• Proven experience working with Agile software development teams.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong proficiency with Jira and modern product management software.
• Working familiarity with payment hardware ecosystems, including card readers, POS terminals, and kiosks

Responsibilities

• Define, design, and build end-to-end proof-of-concept features for the Merchant Onboarding domain from start to finish without heavy design queues.
• Create technical specifications, wireframes, and schemas at a high level of technical depth including employee-based permission rulesets, table mapping mockups, and modifier customizations allowing engineering teams to execute without translation delays.
• Author product evaluation criteria ("evals") prior to feature creation to systematically validate solutions and measure success.
• Conduct direct user discovery with merchants and sales partners to build high user empathy, rapidly converting feedback into working solutions within hours.
