Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC seeks a Director of Product Merchandising to lead strategic seasonal planning, Open-to-Buy creation, and assortment architecture aligned with brand positioning and customer expectations across channels.

You will manage a team of merchants and visual merchandisers, partnering with Buying, Ecommerce, Retail, and Marketing to ensure cross-channel storytelling and strong financial performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive merchandising or buying experience, including senior leadership.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing merchandising and visual merchandising teams.
• Strong Open-to-Buy, seasonal planning, and assortment architecture knowledge.
• Experience overseeing merchandising across retail and ecommerce.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
• High proficiency in retail metrics, Excel, and planning/BI systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for seasonal merchandising plans and category goals.
• Oversee Open-to-Buy frameworks supporting revenue, margin, and inventory targets.
• Lead initial seasonal planning and incorporate data-driven insights.
• Set objectives and guardrails for seasonal line plans and product flows.
• Lead development of customer-focused assortments and lifecycle planning.
• Coordinate with Buying, Ecommerce, Retail, and Marketing for alignment.
• Monitor sales, margin, inventory health, and category performance.
• Coach and mentor a team of merchants and visual merchandisers.
