Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. seeks a Sr Merchandise Planner to lead planning, forecasting, and reporting for the Merchandising department.

You will build financial models, analyze pricing, promotions, and assortment, and present findings to Merchandising leadership to drive revenue and margin growth. The role requires a strong analytical background, 4+ years in grocery/retail analytics, and advanced Excel plus PowerBI/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is required.
• 4+ years of planning/analytics experience in grocery/retail/CPG, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
• Experience manipulating large amounts of data to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills, and ability to speak comfortably to data-driven recommendations.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting systems.
• Experience with PowerBI or similar data visualization tool.
• Expert in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates long-range financial planning and annual budgets by business segment.
• Builds financial models to support planning and influence decision-making.
• Supports forecast processes and summarizes forecast highlights and risks.
• Provides analysis and recommendations to drive revenue and profit goals.
• Regularly reviews pricing, promotion, and assortment to support decisions.
• Leverages data and test-and-learn approaches to maximize growth opportunities.
• Prepares weekly and monthly presentations for Merchandising leadership.
• Manages ad hoc projects and mentors junior teammates.
• Collaborates cross-functionally to support merchandising outcomes.
