Job summary

The City of New York invites applications for the Construction Project Manager role within HPD. This position focuses on reviewing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and sprinkler designs, and monitoring installation for compliance with NYC Building Code, ASHRAE, energy codes and Enterprise Green Communities.

Ideal candidates will hold an Engineering degree (or equivalent), be familiar with NYC housing regulations, and possess strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Background in Engineering or related field with NYC codes.
• Experience reviewing MEP drawings for multi-family housing.
• Knowledge of NYC Building Code and energy codes.
• Ability to negotiate with specialists.
• Strong mathematical and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical, plumbing and sprinkler plans for code compliance.
• Ensure energy efficiency standards in design.
• Conduct field surveys and cost estimates.
• Monitor installations with respect to plans and codes.
• Prepare contract documents for mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.
• Produce reports on engineering matters.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
