Job summary

Dewberry's Richmond, VA office seeks an MEP Senior Project Manager to act as the primary contact between our office and the Owner, managing projects from concept through design, bidding, and construction administration to win future work with the same client. This role requires leadership, a PE license (or ability to obtain it within one year), and 10+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure within one year of start date.
• 10+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain primary one-to-one contact with the client.
• Understand the client's needs and goals and that of the organization.
• Draft proposals for new projects with existing clients for review and signature.
• Attend regular design meetings with the client and issue meeting minutes.
• Primary responsibility for approval and oversight of design and construction documents within area of expertise.
• Coordinate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule and assign personnel.
• Prepare storyboards and Detailed project timeline.
• Provide quality control to ensure client needs are met and coordinate among disciplines.
• Provide on-the-spot advice to Owner.
• Advise on project billing and assist in collections.
• Supervise submission of documents to authorities and coordinate responses.
• Arrange for in-house quality review and pre-bid conferences.
• Conduct bid openings and prepare bid tabulations.
• Perform site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities as required.
• Assist with recruiting and mentoring MEPS staff.
