Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking an MEP Manager to define the MEP execution process, oversee all MEP staff, and work on a large construction project; the role sits mainly on-site with occasional travel to the office for trainings and meetings.

You will lead a team with integrity, drive safety, coordinate with contractors, and partner with the owner to deliver quality, on-time results. Gilbane offers training through Gilbane University and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• 10–15 years of related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Approves all MEP and commissioning schedules.
• Assists with GMP preparation.
• Supervises MEP subcontracting strategies and defines scopes of work.
• Negotiates pricing and change orders with contractors and manufacturers.
• Performs MEP constructability reviews and coordination.
• Guides and approves contractor SVs.
• Defines MEP buyout strategy.
• Ensures timely MEP coordination (BIM).
• Creates and verifies a project MEP quality plan.
• Site inspections for MEP compliance; manages third-party inspections.
• Establishes controls to track and correct commissioning trends.
• Regularly communicates with owner to align expectations.
• Trains team on processes and daily tasks.
• Manages workload and performance of direct reports.
• Fosters positive, inclusive team environment.
• Communicates company/department strategy to reports.
• Collaborates with business development to align sales metrics and strengthen client relationships.
