Job summary

Laland Baptiste, LLC is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to support a large-scale public construction project in the Bronx. On-site work with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems is required, with daily inspections and detailed reporting.

The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of field experience in MEP construction, strong knowledge of codes and drawings, and the ability to coordinate with multiple trades on a busy site.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of MEP construction inspection or related field experience.
• Experience with large commercial, institutional, government, or public-sector construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Previous experience working on NYC agency or other public-sector projects is highly preferred.
• Strong written communication and field reporting skills.
• Ability to work onsite in the Bronx and coordinate effectively with multiple trades and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of MEP installations to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
• Inspect mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection work throughout construction.
• Monitor contractor activities and identify deficiencies or non-conforming work.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and approved shop drawings as they relate to field installations.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, photographs, and documentation of work in progress.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, construction management staff, and other field inspectors.
• Monitor testing, commissioning, equipment installation, and system start-up activities as required.
• Assist with punch lists, corrective work, and project closeout.
