Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in MEP estimating, design coordination, or related construction functions.
• No certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Leads preparation of detailed cost estimates for MEP systems from concept through design development and construction documents, establishing major assumptions and documentation.
• Reviews drawings and specifications to identify design intent, scope gaps, and cost risks; facilitates scope review meetings and reconciles differences.
• Coordinates with design consultants, trade partners, and internal teams to validate MEP pricing, constructability, and value options; aligns MEP costs with logistics, phasing, and schedule.
• Performs system cost comparisons, energy and lifecycle cost analyses, and alternative solution evaluations.
• Guides and mentors estimators in MEP-specific estimating processes and tools.
• Supports procurement strategies, subcontractor selection and negotiations related to MEP scope, and levels subcontractor bids and recommends scope alignments and preferred vendors.
• Contributes to development of estimating templates, databases, and process improvements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency.
