SYSTRA USA is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Seller/Doer) to lead our new billable MEP client practice in the Greater NYC Area.

You will design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for complex infrastructure projects, spanning new construction and major renovations, partnering with public agencies and other internal teams. With 10+ years of mechanical building systems experience and a NY/NJ PE license, you will drive client engagement, mentoring, and proposals while ensuring technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Active PE registration in New York and/or New Jersey with reciprocity readiness.
• 10+ years in mechanical building systems design (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• Experience with Greater NYC public agencies (NYC SCA, NYCHA, MTA/NYCT).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and energy modeling tools.
• Knowledge of NYC Building Code, NYS Energy Code, ASHRAE, NFPA.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical building systems engineering for complex infrastructure projects.
• Interface with NYCHA, NYC SCA, MTA and other agencies to define requirements and secure MEP task orders.
• Define scope, estimate fees, and develop proposals for strategic pursuits in public housing/education/rail.
• Oversee design calculations, load modeling, and mechanical design for stations, depots, schools, and housing.
• Collaborate with signals, traction power, structural, and architecture teams for fully integrated solutions.
• Prepare and stamp drawings, manuals, specifications, and reports per guidelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers as the MEP practice grows.
• Conduct site assessments and field investigations in rail environments, schools, and housing.
• Manage project scheduling, budgeting and resources for profitable delivery.
