Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced MEP Cost Manager and Estimator to support multiple projects across the full lifecycle, with emphasis on the mechanical trades. The role requires strong technical judgment and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, budgets, cost plans, and coordinating with architectural, civil, and structural teams. Proficiency with CostX, OST, Bluebeam, Revit/BIM, MII, and PACES is expected.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus four years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Experience in MEP estimating in the construction industry with a focus on cost consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low-voltage systems across design stages.
• Develop conceptual budgets, cost plans, and parametric models using limited design information and market data.
• Develop estimate assemblies with labor, material and equipment detail.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing for competitive coverage.
• Perform scope gap analyses to identify omissions and ensure full system coverage.
• Evaluate alternatives for materials, equipment, and construction methods for value management.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, and structural estimating teams to identify gaps and risks.
• Lead estimate reconciliation discussions with clients and project teams.
• Review and validate MEP change orders and cost impacts during construction.
• Provide guidance on cost, scope interpretation, and market conditions.
