Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Senior MEP Superintendent II to provide direction on MEP-dominant projects, lead safety programs, and coordinate with PMs to manage labor, materials, and schedules. The role requires extensive supervisory experience and a strong grasp of construction and MEP disciplines.

You will mentor field teams, ensure project-wide alignment, and drive successful site performance while upholding Mortenson's safety standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or 10 years trade experience.
• Minimum 18 years construction experience.
• Minimum 13 years of supervisory experience, preferably with a Mechanical/Electrical contractor.
• Current driver's license.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Active listening and effective communication; openness to diverse input.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities and allocate tasks.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the schedule.
• Budget, forecast, and manage labor, equipment, and materials.
• Review docs for completeness and constructability.
• Support project scheduling and look-ahead planning.
• Coordinate plans with engineers and resolve discrepancies.
• Lead site utilization planning and crew sizing.
• Coach, mentor, and train field personnel and supervisors.
• Maintain site relationships with clients, architects, unions, and subs.
• Promote Mortenson's safety program and manage open shop/union issues.
