Job summary

Cornerstone Concilium, Inc. is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to join our construction management team and ensure quality control on complex commercial, institutional, industrial, and public works projects in the New York area.

The role focuses on inspecting MEP installations, documenting progress, identifying deficiencies, and coordinating with contractors, engineers and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and contract-compliant work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Approximately ten years of MEP inspection experience for Associate level positions and ten+ years for Senior/Lead positions.
• Experience on large commercial, institutional, industrial, public works, infrastructure, transportation or other complex construction projects.
• Certifications from ICBO ICC NICET NEC or other licensing organizations preferred.
• Comparable Deputy Inspection License issued by a city, county or state agency preferred.
• Cal/OSHA/OSHA 30 certification required.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts and technical documents.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and applicable building codes.
• Ability to implement and enforce project safety requirements and company safety policies.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Visit construction sites and inspect work at various stages through project completion.
• Interpret plans, specifications, building codes and contract documents to ensure work meets approved standards.
• Assist in obtaining approved designs, permits and utility service clearances for construction activities.
• Monitor sites for safety compliance and company policies.
• Prepare and issue NCRs when work does not meet requirements or standards.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, activity logs and project documentation.
• Review and prepare progress reports to support contractor payments.
• Monitor testing and commissioning activities and verify contractor testing data.
• Coordinate inspections for MEP installations and oversee independent testing labs.
• Attend project, safety and progress meetings and interface with project stakeholders.
