Cornerstone Concilium, Inc. is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to join our construction management team and ensure quality control on complex commercial, institutional, industrial, and public works projects in the New York area.
The role focuses on inspecting MEP installations, documenting progress, identifying deficiencies, and coordinating with contractors, engineers and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and contract-compliant work.
We are seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to join our construction management team and support the successful delivery of complex commercial institutional industrial and public works construction projects The MEP Inspector will be responsible for inspecting mechanical electrical and plumbing MEP installations to ensure compliance with project plans specifications building codes safety requirements and quality standards This position plays a critical role in monitoring construction activities documenting progress identifying deficiencies and coordinating with contractors engineers and project stakeholders to ensure work is completed safely efficiently and in accordance with contract requirements
Visit construction sites and inspect work at various stages through project completionInterpret plans specifications building codes and contract documents ensuring work is performed in accordance with approved standardsAssist in obtaining approved designs permits and utility service clearances required for construction activitiesMonitor construction sites for compliance with safety regulations and company policiesPrepare and issue Non Conformance Reports NCRs when work does not meet project requirements or approved standardsMaintain daily inspection reports activity logs and detailed project documentationReview and prepare progress reports to support contractor payment applicationsMonitor contractor testing and commissioning activities and verify compliance with project requirementsPrepare reports documenting labor materials equipment utilization and construction progressVerify that construction activities conform to approved drawings specifications applicable codes and project requirementsSupport the implementation and promotion of a safe work environment in accordance with owner and company safety policiesCoordinate the preparation of inspection cost estimates and maintenance recordsArrange coordinate and oversee inspections of mechanical electrical and plumbing MEP installations for compliance with project specifications and quality standardsCoordinate activities of independent testing laboratories and compare test results with contractor provided testing dataMay supervise and allocate work assignments to inspectors and field personnelAttend project meetings safety meetings coordination meetings and progress review meetings as requiredInterface with contractors subcontractors project managers engineers architects and client representatives to resolve construction issues
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredApproximately ten 10 years of MEP inspection experience for Associate level positions and ten 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience for Senior and Lead level positionsExperience on large commercial institutional industrial public works infrastructure transportation or other complex construction projectsExperience as a General Contractor Construction Supervisor Building Inspector MEP Inspector or related construction professional preferredCertifications from ICBO ICC NICET NEC or other nationally recognized licensing organizations preferredComparable Deputy Inspection License issued by a city county or state agency preferredCal OSHAOSHA 30 certification requiredStrong ability to read and interpret construction drawings specifications contracts and technical documentsThorough understanding of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems and applicable building codesAbility to implement and enforce project safety requirements and company safety policiesStrong written communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed inspection reports and documentationExcellent organizational problem solving and computer skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced construction environment
