Job summary

AMPAM in Carson, CA is seeking a Construction Engineer III to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) for multi-family new construction projects. This senior role requires deep technical expertise and strong leadership in field coordination from preconstruction through turnover.

You will mentor junior engineers, work with subcontractors, and ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and cost objectives across all phases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering.
6–10 years of experience in construction engineering or MEP coordination.
Proven experience managing field coordination and subcontractors for MEP installations.

Responsibilities

Lead all MEP coordination efforts across multiple multi-family projects, ensuring seamless integration of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
Serve as the primary liaison between the design team, construction management, and field trades to resolve complex technical issues.
Oversee preconstruction MEP design reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering recommendations.
Manage MEP subcontractors to ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
Facilitate and lead weekly coordination and progress meetings for MEP systems.
Thoroughly specify equipment, materials/joinery, means and methods, and general engineering practices for MEP systems.
