Job summary

UFP Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for its UFP MedTech division in Chicopee, MA. You will lead customer-facing engineering programs, drive NPI and validation, and manage cross-functional teams to meet timelines, budgets, quality, and business objectives.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication with customers and senior stakeholders, and a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a dynamic, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; master's degree preferred.
• 7–10+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience including engineering management and team leadership.
• Experience with regulated quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA regulations) or equivalent.
• Expertise in project management, product lifecycle management (PLM), NPI, and validation.
• Proven ability to lead complex, customer-facing engineering programs with scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, risks, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Manages team of 3–6 engineers; coaches and develops engineering personnel.
• Oversees New Product Introductions (NPI) from Advanced Engineering through process development, validation, and transition to manufacturing.
• Directs and oversees validation activities for new and existing medical technology programs.
• Serves as a primary engineering point of contact for customers; communicates status and resolves issues.
• Partners with Manufacturing to improve process capability, equipment uptime, product quality, and production efficiency.
• Leads cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, Program Management, and other teams to align priorities and resources.
• Oversees engineering change management and SOP/documentation to maintain quality and compliance.
