Job summary

Elanco, a global animal health leader, seeks a Senior Research Scientist in medicinal chemistry to join our small molecule discovery engine in a hybrid Indianapolis location. You will design, synthesize and optimize novel medicines for animal health, guiding SAR studies and collaborating with a global cross-functional team using DEL, AI/ML and modern discovery tools.

Qualifications

• PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in medicinal chemistry.
• Strong synthesis and pharmacokinetics knowledge; collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design novel small molecules and drive SAR using integrated biological and ADME data.
• Coordinate synthesis, purification and characterization with CROs and internal partners.
• Apply DEL and AI/ML methods to accelerate hit identification and lead optimization.
• Collaborate with Biology, Pharmacology, DMPK, Toxicology and Computational Sciences.
• Maintain rigorous experimental design, data integrity, and documentation.
