Job summary

Milliman's Tampa Health Practice is seeking an actuary with extensive pricing and bid-setting experience in Medicare Advantage. The role requires strong actuarial skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and the capacity to lead a team of professionals.

You will participate in Medicare Advantage engagements immediately, guide pricing analyses, and manage projects to deliverables within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
• FSA designation.
• Five or more years of professional healthcare actuarial experience leading teams and developing significant projects in Medicare Advantage.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Outlook tools.
• Some knowledge of SAS, SQL, or Python.
• Some experience with AI tools, such as Visual Studio Code or Microsoft Copilot.
• Strong understanding of the US healthcare system.
• Demonstrable skills in presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience in an understandable way.

Responsibilities

• Perform pricing analyses and bid-setting tasks for Medicare Advantage engagements.
• Lead project teams to deliver engagements within budget and timelines.
• Supervise actuarial students and junior actuaries on technical components.
• Write client-facing reports and present findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support pricing initiatives.
