Job summary

University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine is seeking a Medical Technologist Spec to perform routine and specialized tests across core laboratory areas. You will accession specimens, process samples, and ensure accurate reporting to support patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, MLS/MT certification eligibility, and at least 2 years of post-training experience. It offers on-site work with comprehensive laboratory benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or other biological science.
Certification as MLS/MT or eligibility for certification at time of hire.
Minimum of 2 years of post-training experience in a relevant clinical laboratory.
Appointment must be 32+ hours per week.
Experience in hematology and coagulation testing, and knowledge of clinical chemistry testing.

Responsibilities

Accession and process samples with accuracy; manage specimen receiving, centrifuging, aliquoting and evaluation.
Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing and report results.
Provide QA/compliance support, troubleshoot instruments, and assist in problem solving.
