Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years of Medical Coding experience.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• AHIMA certifications (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) or CPC/CMC preferred.
• ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS knowledge required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Translate medical documentation into codes using coding guidelines.
• Review coding denials and provide feedback for correction.
• Abstract data and review codes for accuracy.
• Respond to coding information requests from internal and external sources.
• Consult with internal customers and external vendors for specificity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
